Feature – Neo-gothic | Psychological Thriller. Blindsided by divorce, thirty-three-year-old Emily returns to California with nothing but a suitcase in hand. Destitute and desperate to feel wanted, she seeks refuge in the home of her old high school friend Robert, and his austere pharmacologist wife, Melissa. Gracious and accommodating, the childless couple welcomes fragile Emily into their lives, but their erratic hospitality shrouds a surreal plot of coercion and control. They want a child, and see in their guest a possible solution to their infertility. Drugged and deprived of sleep, Emily is thrust into a nightmarish tailspin of cult-like manipulation. Little by little her free will slips away, forcing her to question her faith, her sanity, and the intentions of her generous hosts.

Screwdriver is a surreal nightmare of paranoia, betrayal, and manipulation in sunny Southern California.
